Touring Capacity and Comfort Features
The new KLE650 is designed to deliver the highest level of touring comfort among 600–800cc-class models equipped with a 21” front wheel. Its powerful new 649 cm³ Parallel Twin engine is supported by rider support technology that enhances touring capabilities. A windscreen offering effective wind protection and a well-cushioned seat further contribute to long-distance ride comfort.
A Bridge Between Daily and Adventure
The combination of a well-balanced, compact chassis and agile yet reassuring handling seamlessly bridges daily riding, weekend curves, and adventure touring. The carefully designed riding position offers a natural fit whether seated or standing, while the smooth bodywork allows the rider to move around freely. With rider-focused controllability and a composed character, the KLE650 enables adventure riding toward more distant horizons while competently handling changing road surfaces along the way.
Rally-Inspired “KLE” Styling
The KLE650 carries on the KLE series’ distinctive rally-inspired styling. It is equally at home covering long distances on the highway as it is taking on unpaved roads. An authentic rally raid image, familiar street motorcycle elements, and design cues inspired by KX motocross models are fused together to create Kawasaki’s new adventure style.
Selectable ABS
Front and rear disc brakes offer sure stopping power. Selectable ABS allows riders to disable the ABS function according to their preference.
Rider Support for Enhanced Long-Distance Comfort
KTRC offers support across a wide range of riding situations, from enhancing performance during sporty riding to providing reassurance on low-grip surfaces. In addition, Electronic Cruise Control is standard equipment, enabling relaxed cruising and contributing to greater comfort on long-distance rides.
Customisable Seating Combination
Four unique seating setups are possible with the addition of the ERGO-FIT Pillion Seat (Low) and Low Front Seat available as genuine accessories. Riders can find their ideal seating arrangement, whether it is the standard combination (High/High) aimed at on-road comfort and day-to-day use, complete with specially designed cushioning for long-ride comfort, or a fully flat setup (High/Low) facilitating rider mobility during off-road riding.
Multi-Purpose Trellis Frame
Based on the KLE500’s compact trellis frame, the KLE650’s chassis was designed with an even greater focus on on-road comfort. While maintaining versatility and riding enjoyment to suit a wide range of situations ranging from sporty riding to city riding, the design places particular emphasis on balance and composure during highway cruising. Fine-tuned dimensions and a newly designed swingarm contribute to increased comfort on paved roads.
Instrumentation with Smartphone Connectivity
Smartphone connectivity via RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE allows riders to connect to their machine wirelessly for an enhanced motorcycling experience.
Adjustable Windshield
Riders can select windshield height from three positions. The lowest setting allows maximum view, helpful for seated off-road riding, while the highest setting blocks the most wind to keep the rider comfortable at higher speeds.
Long Travel Suspension
A KYB cartridge-type inverted front fork combined with New Uni-Trak rear suspension delivers class-leading wheel travel (F: 210 mm / R: 196 mm). This suspension setup offers precise handling and composed character on paved roads, while providing excellent bump absorption on unpaved roads.
Next-Generation 649 cm³ Parallel Twin Engine
Building on Kawasaki’s well-proven 649 cm³ Parallel Twin—an engine known for its reliability and rider-friendly character—the new engine features Electronic Throttle Valves, complemented by fine-tuned intake and exhaust systems. The engine delivers strong low- to mid-range torque, powerful high-rpm performance, and smooth, linear response with no flat spots. The result is excellent control and high performance for in-town riding, backroad exploration, highway cruising, and adventure touring.
High Grade Looks
Compared to the KLE500, the KLE650 features increased painted surface area on the lower cowling sides, which creates the image of an off-road machine from a larger displacement class while contributing to a more refined, high-quality impression.
Relaxed, Upright Riding Position
The KLE650’s riding position offers the best balance of comfort and control in a wide range of riding situations. A wide, forward-positioned handlebar, comfortable seat, and ideally placed footpegs work together to enable ample freedom of movement to control the bike, whether seated or standing.
Three-Case Capable: Extended Carrying Capacity
The ability to carry two panniers and a top case (available as Kawasaki genuine accessories) at the same time gives riders many options for touring setups.
Tall, Compact Front Cowl
Key to the KLE650’s rally-inspired styling, the tall front cowl rises prominently at the front. The instrument panel’s angle presents a clear view to the rider even when standing, in the style of rally machines. Clear plastic panels surround the front cowl to enhance wind protection and give the front end a highly compact and functional appearance.
21”/17” Spoke Wheels
The 21” front wheel and 17” rear spoke wheel contribute to the KLE650’s rally-inspired styling. This front and rear wheel combination has been carried over from the original KLE model, maintaining the series’ established character.
