Future of Hero MotoCorp "The 250 came out better than ever" - MotoGB in Milan!

Milan is currently the centre of the motorcycling world as EICMA 2026 kicks into high gear. The MotoGB team is stationed directly inside the exhibition halls, tracking the biggest developments across our entire brand portfolio. Among the heavy hitters we are following closely this week is Hero MotoCorp, a manufacturing giant currently making waves with its targeted expansion into the UK and European markets.

Here is what you need to know about the Hero MotoCorp presence at the show, the machinery on display, and how you can track our live media updates as they happen.

Our MotoGB media team has set up camp directly inside the exhibition hall. This week, our crew is tracking the sharpest machinery on the floor, with the Hero MotoCorp pavilion serving as a primary point of interest. The display brings together contrasting elements of competitive off-road heritage, rugged lifestyle engineering, and futuristic urban mobility.

Uncovering the Dakar-Inspired Hybrid – Hero Xpulse Scrambler 250 Concept

The sheets have just dropped on the striking Hero Xpulse Scrambler 250 Concept, expanding the iconic XPulse family into a trendy, lifestyle-oriented dimension. Built for riders craving dirt-track capability mixed with sharp urban style, the machine makes an incredibly bold statement on the stand. Up close, it commands attention under the exhibition lighting with its vibrant red-and-white striped tank graphics, an elegant tan ribbed bench seat with grey rear profiling, golden wire-spoked rims, and a signature circular LED headlight sporting a distinct, futuristic horizontal "H" insert. The sculpted tank, towering clear rally windshield, high-rise dual-tone front fender, and clean aluminium underbelly bash plate give it an authentic, stripped-back Dakar silhouette.

A look at the structural layout confirms a lightweight black trellis frame wrapped around a high-performance single-cylinder engine derived directly from Hero’s gruelling XPulse 250 Rally competition bike. By exposing this raw mechanical layout, the concept pays direct homage to Dakar-proven engineering while forming a sleek, athletic street footprint. The concept rolls on a highly adaptable, dual-purpose stance, matching its robust wire-spoke wheels with aggressive block-pattern dual-sport tires to ensure it looks just as natural parked outside a city café as it does kicking up dust on loose backcountry roads.

The Stage-Ready Competitor – Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition

This hard-edged machine takes direct inspiration from Hero MotoCorp's elite rally racing division, striking an imposing figure on the showroom floor. The bike commands the stage with a crisp white, black, and red factory racing livery, complete with signature yellow competition number plates sporting the "#1" decal. Up front, a towering, vertically stacked clear rally windscreen shields a robust round LED headlight assembly, flanked by rugged handguards, blacked-out telescopic front forks with protective rubber gaiters, and an aggressive high-rise front beak fender.

A deep dive into the engineering display panel confirms this model means serious business when the tarmac ends. Built with a ready-to-ride kerb weight of 172 kg and a robust 13L fuel tank capacity, the Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition boasts an uncompromising off-road stance defined by a commanding 892mm seat height and a massive 270mm of ground clearance to crawl over trail obstacles. Power is channelled through a technical DOHC liquid-cooled setup to a pair of hard-core spoked wheels wrapped in aggressive Maxxis knobby dirt tyres, utilizing a large 90/90-21 wheel up front and a heavy-duty 120/80-18 wheel at the rear.

The integrated mechanical build and terrain assistance package features:

  • Off-Road Control: Outfitted with an advanced dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) offering 3 tailored ABS mode selections for handling loose dirt and gravel.
  • Structural Hardening: Features structural black crash bars shielding the engine core alongside a heavy-duty silver aluminum underbody bash plate to deflect trail impacts.
  • Rally Amenities: Configured with a slim, high-elasticity competition-style seat, a high-slung performance exhaust system to optimize wading depth, and a clean digital cockpit layout tucked neatly behind the rally tower.

Uncovering the Heavyweight Globtrotter - The Xpulse 450

The sheets have officially been pulled back on Hero MotoCorp's highly anticipated flagship adventure motorcycle, the Hero XPulse 450, making its explosive global debut at the centre of the exhibition platform. Stepping boldly into the competitive mid-capacity ADV market, the bike completely commands the showroom floor under the arena lighting. Visually, it shifts away from the smaller dual-sport family styling for a much more premium, long-distance touring silhouette. Up close, the machine presents a muscular profile defined by a heavily sculpted, high-capacity fuel tank, a commanding upright riding posture, a protective tall windscreen, and sharp LED headlights integrated with signature daytime running lights (DRLs).

A technical look at the structural core confirms a complete engineering overhaul: an all-new 421cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine securely housed within a lightweight steel trellis frame. Developed using vital, desert-proven data directly from Hero MotoSports' gruelling 450cc factory rally program, this advanced powerplant is built to comfortably challenge the 40 horsepower segment while focusing heavily on immediate low-to-mid range torque delivery. Navigating unpredictable terrain is made effortless thanks to an adaptable 6-speed transmission, long-travel upside-down front forks, and a robust rear monoshock setup. For uncompromised off-road handling, the flagship rolls on dirt-ready wire-spoked wheels utilizing an aggressive 21-inch front tyre combination and high-mounted exhaust placement designed to tackle technical trails and river crossings with total confidence.

The standard electronics and premium touring package includes:

  • Active Electronics Suite: Fully integrated with multiple selectable riding modes, an advanced Traction Control System (TCS), and switchable dual-channel ABS tailored for loose dirt and gravel.
  • Highway Technology: Standard-equipped with an electronic cruise control system and updated, premium switchgear designed to streamline long motorway hauls.
  • Connected Cockpit Architecture: A large, high-visibility digital TFT instrument console offering seamless smartphone Bluetooth connectivity to track your live map navigation routes, incoming phone calls, and SMS text notifications on the fly.

Walking the Stand

Away from the main launch platform, the stand showcases the diverse engineering directions Hero MotoCorp is currently pursuing. Visitors are getting a first-hand look at how the brand plans to cater to different riding styles.

The urban roadster market is well represented by the Mavrick 440, a machine designed around a torque-heavy engine package and relaxed street ergonomics.

For sports enthusiasts, the Karizma XMR highlights a rev-hungry liquid-cooled powerplant encased in aggressive, lightweight aerodynamic bodywork.

The display also addresses zero-emission commuting with the Vida V1 electric scooter, an innovative platform utilising practical removable batteries and integrated smart navigation software.

The Desert Racing Quadrant

This area centres purely on maximum mechanical durability and factory motorsport engineering. Dominated by tall rally towers, heavy-duty long-travel suspension setups, and high-clearance bodywork, this specific zone highlights professional-grade competition platforms built to survive the harshest cross-country terrain on earth.

Tarmac and Lifestyle Corridors

Hero's street-focused roadsters and urban commuters take over the central rows, highlighting stripped-back aesthetics paired with everyday practicality. These models focus on friendly riding geometry, accessible seat heights, and immediate low-end power delivery tailored perfectly for conquering congested city lanes.

Eco-Centric Innovation Pavilion

Set slightly away from the internal combustion engines, this sector shines a light on alternative energy, smart connectivity, and upcoming electric scooter platforms. The engineering here focuses on lightweight chassis materials, large connected touchscreens, and highly efficient electric drivetrains designed for sustainable city transit.
